1. Scope
This Privacy Policy sets out the steps we have taken to meet the data privacy requirements under Swiss and EU law and other applicable provisions on the collection, storage, use and transfer (“processing”) of personal data.
This Policy describes how we process the personal data that we have received from you via a website or application. This Policy applies exclusively to personal data collected by EROWA, such as via websites, by email or via other online tools and applications.
The Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, supplementary to it where applicable, the relevant provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) shall apply.
2. Processing of personal data; nature, purpose and use
When you visit our website [www.erowa.com], information is temporarily stored on our servers in log files. This is information that the browser on your device sends automatically,
including in particular the following:
- IP address
- Date and time of the request
- Time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
- Content requested (specific page)
- Access status/HTTP status code
- Volume of data transferred
- Webpage from which the request has been made

We process this data for the following purposes:
Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. A data subject is a person whose personal data is processed. Processing includes any operation involving personal data, regardless of the means or processes used, including in particular the retention, disclosure, procurement, erasure, storage, modification, destruction and use of personal data.

We are present on various social media and other online platforms to communicate with existing and prospective customers and to inform them about our products and services. The General Terms and Conditions (GTC), Privacy Policies and other provisions of the applicable platform operators apply.
Legal basis for processing personal data
We process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and other applicable data privacy laws (such as the GDPR).
3. Processing personal data
EROWA collects and processes the personal data of:
- users of our websites, whether they are registered with EROWA or not;
- recipients of EROWA's newsletters;
- participants in market research and opinion polls conducted by EROWA;
- participants in the courses, seminars and other events offered by EROWA;
(collectively referred to as “Business Partners”).
The personal data of our Business Partners is generally collected directly from the data subjects when they use the website, request or use products or services, submit reviews and reports, take part in market surveys or other surveys or EROWA events or enter into direct communication with EROWA via email, telephone or other means.
They can, however, also be collected indirectly, such when transactions in favor of a Business Partner or a delivery to one Business Partner by another Business Partner are made on the recommendation of a third party (such as a recommendation by the Business Partner’s contacts) or by obtaining or purchasing supplementary data from third-party data sources (such as social media or address brokers).

Data relating to deliveries and sales as well as orders and purchases: This data includes in particular, but not exclusively: payment information, other payment details, invoice and delivery address, products and services delivered and sold or ordered and purchased;
Data relating to the marketing of products and services: This data includes in particular, but not exclusively: details about marketing activities, such as newsletter subscriptions, newsletter opt-ins and opt-outs, documents received, invitations and attendance at events and special activities, personal preferences and interests, etc.
Data relating to use of the website: This data includes in particular, but not exclusively: the IP address and other identifiers (such as social media user name, MAC address of smartphone or computer, cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, log files, local shared objects (Flash cookies) or other technologies that collect personal details in an automated way), date and time of website visit or use, pages and content viewed, referring websites, etc.;
4. Data transfer to third parties (including joint data controllers and data processors)
Your data is transferred to our partners (third parties) as necessary for processing on our behalf. If we transfer your data to an external service provider, technical and organizational measures are taken to ensure that the transfer is conducted in accordance with statutory data privacy provisions. If you provide us with personal or business-related data directly, we do not use, process or transfer such data beyond the framework set out by law or in your declaration of consent. We also only transfer your data to external service providers if it is necessary to perform the contract and if they have accepted the relevant provisions on confidentiality and due care. Otherwise, we only transfer your data if we are legally obliged to do so by an official or judicial order.
5. Cookies

6. Analytics tools
Google Analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc., USA. Google Analytics uses cookies (for more information, please see “Cookies”). These cookies allow Google in the USA to analyze data about the use of our website, including IP addresses. Please note that we use the Google Analytics extension on this website with the code “gat._anonymizeIp();” in order to guarantee anonymized collection of IP addresses (IP masking). When anonymization is active, Google truncates IP addresses from within Member States of the European Union or other contracting parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. This means that IP addresses cannot be used to identify you. Only in exceptional cases is your full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. Google respects the data privacy provisions of the “Swiss USA Privacy Shield” agreement and therefore has an adequate level of data protection. Google uses the information collected to analyze website activity on our behalf, to compile reports for us about such activity and to provide us with other relevant services. Hotjar
We use Hotjar in order to better understand our users’ needs and to optimize this service and experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us better understand our users’ experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and don’t like, etc.) and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behavior and their devices. This includes a device's IP address (processed during your session and stored in a de-identified form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), and the preferred language used to display our website. Hotjar stores this information on our behalf in a pseudonymized user profile. Hotjar is contractually forbidden to sell any of the data collected on our behalf. SalesViewer
This website uses SalesViewer® technology from SalesViewer® GmbH on the basis of the website operator’s legitimate interests (Section 6 paragraph 1 lit.f GDPR) in order to collect and save data on marketing, market research and optimisation purposes. In order to do this, a javascript based code, which serves to capture company-related data and according website usage. The data captured using this technology are encrypted in a non-retrievable one-way function (so-called hashing). The data is immediately pseudonymised and is not used to identify website visitors personally. The data recording and storage can be repealed at any time with immediate effect for the future, by clicking on https://www.salesviewer.com/opt-out in order to prevent SalesViewer® from recording your data. The data you enter when subscribing to the newsletter is processed by X-Campaign. This data is processed solely on the basis of your consent. Any data processing operations that have already been carried out until that time remain unaffected by withdrawal of consent. When we send newsletters using X-Campaign, we can see if a newsletter has been opened and which links have been clicked. X-Campaign allows us to group recipients into various categories. 9. Access, erasure and rectification
